My book, The Right of Publicity: Privacy Reimagined for a Public World, was officially released today by Harvard University Press.

Jack Balkin of Yale Law School has described the book as the "definitive biography of the right of publicity" and as a story told with "zest, explaining how we should restruture this right on our fame obssessed age."

Rebecca Tushnet of Harvard Law School has described it as "important and informative," and as elaborating "principles that will be useful in defining both publicity and privacy rights for the digital age."

In honor of the book's release, I am guestblogging this week at The Volokh Conspiracy.

Today's post provides a preview of the book's Introduction, the rest of the week will be all original posts about topics raised by the book.
